Expecting a record turnout, social distancing, and long lines, Spartanburg County Elections Director Henry Laye said the early, in-person absentee polling location has been moved from Conference Room 6 at the Elections Office to the Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium, lower level, at 385 N. Church St.
The absentee in-person voting for Nov. 3 election begins Monday, Sept. 28, and ends Nov. 2. The hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
"We are seeing voter participation statewide surge," Laye said. "We think this will give us a lot bigger space to make our process a lot more efficient and pleasant, and a big enough space inside to get out of the weather. Plus the parking is very good."
